SYSTEMA - THE RUSSIAN FIGHT
If you thought Max was good last year, be frightened this year.

Both Sydney and Melbourne seminars will be professionally filmed and a DVD study set will be released by about September.

Mr. Maxim Franz:

Maxim Franz, now 38, was born in the Ural mountain region of Russia.  His military service was in the Russian Navy, Marines Brigade, with his primary operations as a Marine Sniper from 1988 – 1990.  Once he had completed his military service, he immigrated to Canada where he has lived since 1998.

Max joined Russian Martial Art in autumn 1998 and has trained directly with Systema co-founder Vladimir Vasiliev.  He is certified to teach all aspects of Systema, teaching at Headquarters as well as instructing for the Canadian Military Special Forces Units, Mexican Special Tactical Response Units, International Systema seminars etc.  In Toronto he usually teaches the Friday night class, as well as most of Vladimir's classes when he is away conducting seminars or at other events.

Maxim is married with a son.  He enjoys snowboarding and skiing in winter; and camping, cycling, and canoeing with his son in summer.  In 2008 Russian Martial Art Headquarters have started Russian Martial Art - Kids class. Maxim is the primary instructor.  When questioned about his specialty areas in Systema, he states that:

"I don't have any special area of expertise in Systema (we try to be rounded individuals), but I like striking a lot (taking and applying punches)."

We are very fortunate to have such a senior instructor offering this seminar in Australia again.

What is Systema:

Systema is the Russian Martial Art developed by the Russian Special Operations Units or Spetsnaz.  It has been used and perfected in both civilian and military conflicts over the years.

Systema represents one of the most well thought out and effective fighting arts in the world today.  It was designed to be practical, direct and very effective.  As a military martial art it was developed to be used in any terrain and under any compromised circumstances such as multiple attackers, fighting with injuries, surprise attacks, as well as fighting in situations where you may be armed or un-armed, fighting hand to hand or defending against weapons, etc.

Systema is not a pretty martial art, it is not stylized, it is not beautiful to watch.  It is the martial art of the Russian Special Forces  - it only had be effective.

The Seminar:  SYSTEMA - THE RUSSIAN FIGHT

This seminar will deal with the more practical applications of Systema including:

- Systema conditioning exercises
- Systema knife fighting
- Systema kicks and leg work
- Systema Fist work
- Systema takedowns
- Systema strike work
- Systema ground fighting
- And much, much more
