The Russian Sydney Systema Seminar - 1st Time in Australia

The Russians Teaching Systema The Russian Way

Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th February, 2008

Mr. Maksym Franz  (Russian Certified Instructor)

Dear Russian Martial Art - Systema enthusiast,
Mr. Maksym Franz Conducting The First Russian Sydney Systema Seminar:
7 hours Saturday 23rd and 7 hours Sunday 24th February, 2008.  Two days, 14 hours of Russian training.
My name is Peter Aftanas and I am the organiser for The First Russian Sydney Systema
Seminar.
With the help and assistance of David Quaile and Chris Misek, we have been able to negotiate with Vladimir Vasiliev to have his Head Instructor visit Australia to present for the first time a Systema seminar in Australia presented by the Russians the Russian way.
There are only 30 places available.  Act now and do not let this unique training opportunity pass you by.
Mr. Maksym Franz:
Maksym Franz, now 37, was born in the Ural mountain region of Russia.  His military service was in the Russian Navy, Marines Brigade, with his primary operations as a Marine Sniper from 1988 – 1990.  Once he had completed his military service, he immigrated to Canada and has lived there since 1998.
He joined Russian Martial Art in autumn 1998 and has trained directly with Systema co-founder Vladimir Vasiliev.  He is certified to teach all aspects of Systema, teaching at Headquarters as well as international seminars.  He usually teaches the Friday night class, as well as most of the classes when Vladimir is on seminars or at other events.
Maksym is married with a son.  He enjoys snowboarding and skiing in winter; and camping, cycling, and canoeing with his son in summer.
This Canadian Autumn Russian Martial Art Headquarters have started Russian Martial Art - Kids. Maksym is the primary instructor.
When questioned about his specialty areas in Systema, he states that:
"I don't have any special area of expertise in Systema (we try to be rounded individuals), but I like striking a lot (taking and applying punches)."
We are very fortunate to have such a senior instructor offering this seminar.

What is Systema:
Systema is the Russian Martial Art adopted by the Special Operations Units or Spetsnaz and has been perfected in both civilian and military applications for years.
Systema represents one of the most modern and effective fighting arts in the world today.  It is designed for application in any situation involving hand to hand combat or weapons defense, in any terrain, or under any compromised circumstances, such as environment, multiple attackers, injury, loss of breathing and surprise.
By using the natural capacity to evade and precise re-direction of the opponent's force, the Systema student is trained to handle any challenge and produce devastating results.
The Seminar:
The 1st Russian Sydney Systema Seminar will deal with the more practical applications of Systema, including:
-    Russian conditioning exercises
-    Breathing and breath work
-    Soft work
-    Strike work
-    Leg work including kicking
-    Knife work
-    Ground work
-    Take-down work
